Lynbrook's Got Game Spirit Week & Fall Rally

hi asb :-) first of all, we want to say a huge thank you for helping out at our Fall Rally, and participating throughout the spirit week. for this rally & spirit week, we tried out a HUGE amount of new things (from the feedback we got on the welcome back rally). here's a quick recap of everything we tried: Spirit Week: a different backdrop for EACH spirit day. on monday & tuesday, we taped them on the wall between the cafeteria and the girls bathroom. on wednesday & thursday, this was taped on the 500s building wall facing the gym more tik-tokky/trendy spirit days that didn't necessarily correlate with the larger board game theme (blanket monday, mathlete vs. athlete tuesday, white lie wednesday, and twin day thursday) recap reels posted for each day on the lynbrookasb instagram having lynbrooklookbook post each day (thanks rec <3) Rally: more intellectually-based games, like the Trivia Showdown a more interactive rally, where each of the spirit members were trap...

hey asb! the november/december PR video just aired last Wednesday, and we'd love to hear your feedback to improve our upcoming ones next semester! Things that went well: - we got content! - we were able to play it in classrooms during announcements - hoco Recap carried the video - first club spotlight of the year things to improve on: - figuring out how to adapt to new filming schedules - last minute edits + stressful getting the link out the day before - club spotlight: less background noise and making it more engaging - making the video more engaging in general feel free to add thoughts + any feedback is welcome! we'd love to know if the short formed content is better and how to make it even better :) can't wait for future vids! maybe even speak on some touchy subjects (like if you think we should continue pr vids) <3,  pr + tech

Barnyard Buddies

Hellaur everyone! SO we just brought bunnies & hamsters on campus Monday (11/14) lunch for students to destress and play with. We had all students take a seat and placed a critter on their laps, and switched out students small group at a time with the line. So the line was let in in waves of 2-5 people. We also put out stickers and hand sanitizer at the exit. Small recap of what went well/what could be improved: People were taking the stickers without participating in barnyard buddies. Which is fine (?) because it made people happy Last wave of students didn’t have time to sit with the animals, we just let them in to pet for the last 2 minutes Maybe having more signs/bunny guinea pig name tags/descriptions for kids to bond more with the critters Switching out people was a little hectic Volunteers were SUPER helpful Discussion points:   Should we have a different more “buffet style” set up? Where students can pet and go? (Suggested by AAH rep) Crowd control? Did we let pe...

Student Section

ello asb! Football season has come to a wrap so major student section plans are finished and PR would love to hear any feedback! Overview of the student section is to bring spirit and fun themes to sport games to promote attendance and make games more fun. Discussion points: - Should we continue doing student sections throughout the year? (ex. senior nights, specific home games, etc.) -What type of decorations should we do next year to make it more exciting? Feel free to leave any feedback on what we can improve on throughout the year and in the future!! Thanks <33 -pr

Diwali Decs

hey asbcdefg!! i hope you all had loads of fun with mickey and minnie this weekend :) here is a quick overview on diwali decs and some things to think about: 1. promoted dressing up (on instagram + AISA email) - how can we reach people who don't have instagram? (some said that they would have dressed up if they had known we were promoting it) 2. put up a backdrop - was the location good/noticeable? how can we make it more well known/used? 3. small decor outside of cafeteria walls - if we plan on doing bigger decs, any ideas as to what we can get?  some previously shared ideas.. - have Bollywood music playing in the quad at lunch - using announcement time ("today in history..") to share more about the cultural importance of this event - MILLER:  they passed out one  indian sweet/savory snack to every kid = more interactive. should we consider doing something like this next year? we do have way more kids (more planning + money), so is it still feasible? would the student bo...

Halloween Blogger

What’s goodie ASB, As you may know, we celebrated Halloween here at Lynbrook on 10/31. Spirit hosted Staff-Trick-Or-Treating during brunch for the student body to snack on some tasty candy (besides Twizzlers). We would love to hear any feedback you guys had on the event.  Here are some discussion points: How was the candy distribution process (if you volunteered to help spirit distribute)? Were there any issues with the lines for classrooms? What is the best way to deal with extra candy? (For reference, we communicated with participating staff members the day before that if they have extra candy, they can bring it to the den for asb students to pass it out during lunch) Should we try getting a broader selection of candy? (It was easier to buy in bulk with a certain limit on the types of candy) As always, thank you guys for taking the time out of your day to fill out this blogger. Get ready for Fall rally!!! Sincerely, Satvik + Spirit
