InDesign Fashion Show

Hey ASB! InDesign Fashion Show ended last week, and we would love to thank all of our volunteers and advisors for making this possible. Here is an overview of the event/what ASB helped with: Promotion/Ticket sales  In person blackboards, Pandora's box in the quad, Instagram posts + reels, Schoology blast Rehearsal day (Thursday 5/18) Day of (Friday 5/19) Food: Strawberry jam cookies Popcorn chicken Macarons Soda Free popcorn  Volunteers helped backstage + set up + clean up  For the discussion points: Due to AP testing, morning announcements were not available and InDesign is a "new" event for a lot of students. What are some other ways of creative promo to increase participation and growth for the future?  For InDesign, Social experimented with new foods such as strawberry jam cookies. Are there any other foods we should provide in the future?  Leftover popcorn chicken was given out to volunteers/InDesign members who cleaned up. Are there any other ways to...

Staff Appreciation Week

Hi ASB! Staff Appreciation Week was a week long event where Rec handed out food/goodies for the staff to enjoy. Here is a quick overview of what happened each day:  Monday: Coffee (used Starbucks travelers/self serve) Tuesday: ArtReach flowers (put them in teacher mailboxes) Wednesday: Tea (put out during fourth/self serve) Thursday: Yogurt bar (bought yogurt cups + granola/self serve) Friday: Message grams (emailed to teachers) Discussion Points: - what other treats/food could we give out in the future years? - how can we encourage more sign ups on the message form? (and should we keep it digital or invest and print them out to put in staff mailboxes) - any other pieces of advice or feedback is appreciated! thank you <3 rec

Spring Egg Hunt

HEY ASB! PR had just finished our Spring Egg Hunt Event from 4/3 to 4/7! We hid eggs around campus and prompted students to go hunting for eggs in exchange for candy. General Timeline: 3/27 - 3/31: fill eggs with candy 3/31 or 4/3: plant 200 eggs + 10 golden eggs 4/3 - 4/6: every morning plant 50 eggs + 5 golden eggs Key points of the event: - people were excited about the egg hunt and they liked the candy reward - most eggs were found which made clean up easier - many eggs were hunted in the beginning of the day before school - started around 470 eggs, ended up with 170 eggs - students come to school early to find eggs - people would take the candy inside eggs and replant empty shells Discussion question: - How do we prevent people from coming at 7:30 in the morning and finding all the eggs and then hiding them with notes that say “no candy sorry”? - How do we get more people to return eggs since many people threw them in the trash can?

Farewell Rally & Voyage Through Time Spirit Week

HEY ASB! Spirit has just wrapped up the Voyage Through Time spirit week from 4/10-4/13, ending the week off with Farewell Rally on 4/14. We want to give another thank you to all of you for an amazing final rally of the year. Spirit Week: Here are the days in order:  Senioritis Monday - Therapy Animals (comment your best rec roast!!) Seniolympics Tuesday - Seniolympics (POSTPONED) Senior Citizen Wednesday - Letters to Seniors/Future Self See-N-Your Future Thursday - College Rejection Board We themed each of our spirit days around the word “senior” (with some of the names being better than others). The actual themes for dressing were similar to online trends as we have been attempting for the past few. Points for Discussion: Was making the spirit days senior themed worth it? It lead to a little bit of a roadblock for some creative spirit days due to the constraint of containing senior. Are decs worth the trouble? As Farewell Rally is the final rally of the year and the sendoff for se...

Student vs Teacher Charity Basketball Game (SVTCBG)

HEY ASB :))))) Thank you so much to our amazing volunteers for helping and also to all the people who came out and watched the game! We would love to hear your feedback on how the game went, promotion, donations/shoutouts, planning, and any other ideas you’d like to share with us!  Some information: For promotion, we had a physical flier that was printed on wednesday, and distributed on wednesday and thursday.  We had one informational post that came out the Friday before the game, one story spam template on Wednesday the week of, and a hype video (big thank you to Mr. Bale, the goat) that came out the day before the game. Thank you to Shreya Somani (our idol) as well for grinding out all the PR!  We had a donation table in the gym, and every time somebody donated, the commentators gave them a shout out  We raised 104 dollars! We had 11 students and 11 teachers playing during the game The game started a few minutes later than anticipated, since we realized tha...

Club Food Day

HEY ASBEINGS! We just wrapped up on club food day and we would love to hear your feedback! Some info: - occurred on March 10th - clubs sold food and snacks during the event - ticket sales happened online the day week before and cash on the day of - students exchanged tickets for items - around $5k - $6k tickets sold - moved to the hallway instead of the quad (where it used to be), which allowed for a lot more open space Some questions to consider: - was the new location better or was the quad better? - is it worth it to continue selling online tickets as it is convenient but there is also a service fee? - we had some clubs make a loss, how can we prevent this? - should we impose stricter guidelines on what clubs can sell? (Some clubs didn't make a profit/dropped out very late) Please leave any comments you have!! <3 Community Link

Spring Movie Night

Hey ASB! Social just finished ASB Social! Here's a recap and ofc thank you to everyone who volunteered: We learned: Food: reduce overall prices and/or have larger signs underneath each table Double check and confirm that facilities are updates and sent to the correct people Remember to organize the tables/food items that same way they were placed in the project plan We need to release more things at the same time (ex. PR vid goes out --> we should send a graphic out as well) We did well: People enjoyed it Wings were pretty much sold out + volunteers for all shifts were efficent Event ran smoothly students seemed to enjoy the movie night Here is the discussion question: What are your thoughts on the pricing? Should we be adjusting prices during the event and do you think it was a good idea to change pricing when we thought it was needed? Thanks for the feedback <#3 - Social
