March PR Video

goood day asb! 👻🍀

march pr video was released on march 8th and can be found here: youtube.com/watch?v=_LEe2PZAPS4

here are some prompts to think about:
for scheduling/fimling:
1. did you feel like you had enough time to prepare for filming?
2. did scheduling and/or filming feel rushed, or was there ample time for you to situate yourself?
3. any other feedback?

for the actual video:
we tried some new, fun, silly goofy things like having cute recap slides and different transitions
the ending graphics were supposed to go between clips but got a little mixed up -
1. do you think having them between clips or at the end would be better?
2. did you find raps/other methods of filming more engaging?
3. have you received any comments/feedback from teachers or peers ?

huge thank you to social, clink, rec, and co 26 for having such fun and engaging scripts! 💚

for reference: here are the transitions from the pr vid!
in order to make the workload more even, tech edited the video and pr made the graphics/transitions

⬇ this one was made but not included in the video :( ⬇

feel free to leave any feedback! we love to hear from you guys :)

  1. Hi pr!!

Before anything, I LOVED the cute little graphic animations at the end. It really added a cute little finish to the video while keeping the audience informed. It would be a nice idea to have it before the segment. If that's the case maybe rethink about the overall format/theme of the video as if it's like a talk show(?) so you guys as the hosts can introduce the next segment of the video. For scheduling, I think there was a good amount of time to prepare the reminders for filming the next day was also really helpful. As for content of the video, definitely keep things scripted with a little skit, it just adds more character and engagement to the video rather than heads talking which could get boring. Other than that awesome job!!

  2. Hi pr/tech!

I definitely thought that all of the segments in this video were super creative, from the clink rap to the introduction of the Students for Literacy Club spotlight. I know a lot of feedback from previous videos regarded having cohesive themes throughout the video (ex. everyone holds a pumpkin, etc), but in all honesty, cohesive themes matter too much as long as the segments themselves are entertaining, because at the end of the day, that's the reason why people watch these videos. I also thought that Shrey's animations were super cool and I hope that you guys find a way to incorporate them into the video in the future!

  3. hi pr and tech!!

i loved the transition slides that were made - they were so cute and eye catching and i def think we should do more of those in the future. it was super fun to watch all the commissions mini skits because it made the video a lot more entertaining and go by quick. this is a easy way for people to keep paying attention to the video and watch it to the end so i think we should implementing a norm that segments in the pr video should be skit like. i dont think most commissions would have a problem with this since they already do it anyway but it would be great if pr could start enforcing this rule to make sure pr videos are even better quality. this goes for all pr videos but i think planning wise only scheduling 1-2 commissions to film a day would help. depending on how long agenda is and how many commissions want to film for the pr video, it would be nice to not have to rush the commissions that get filmed last certain days. this would also ensure commissions have enough time to perfect their skit so the overall quality of the pr can improve as well. i love the new things you guys have been trying!!

  4. hey pr and tech!!
first of all, I just want to say that this video was AMAZING. You guys used previous feedback to make this video the best it could be and it definetely showed. For scheduling, this wasn't necessarily your fault due to the break which was awkwardly in the middle, but it felt a bit rushed to get it done right before break. Otherwise, I think that general organization was quite nice. For the transitions, I think it'd be cool after or before each segment to have something as a quick preview and also to let students know that the next segment is starting to make clearer transitions between different parts. Also, I absolutely LOVED the graphics in between and they were made so well. SUCH A GREAT JOB pr and tech!!

  5. hi tech and pr.
i like the graphics for this video. definitely put them between each segment because i think that would work a little better transition-wise. raps should be done more often, but in general try to encourage commissions to do stuff other than talk to the camera. clink is usually pretty good about this. so many of my friends loved the rap, clink should definitely make this a yearly tradition. loved the editing style as well, great job!

  6. hi tech and pr,

I really liked this pr video!! The filming and editing was really good and overall the flow and tempo of the video was nice and it was an engaging video. I think the rap was definitely a good addition, and I think in the future incorporating more unique ideas for filming would make the pr videos better. I think having the graphics is really good because it's more engaging then just text on a screen. Great job!

  7. Hi Tech and PR,

I really liked how this video introduced a new idea of doing an animated recap at the end. The graphics and animation really caught my eye so great job PR!!! In terms of editing, I think the transitions were really smooth and really good and the glitch screens were a good addition too. I think the idea of raps are good because they're so corny that they are funny so in the future, PR and Tech can look into trying to encourage more groups to rap their info. Other than that I think everything was good, the captions were on point, Great Job!!!

  8. hey tech & pr!!
thank you for putting together such a cute pr video :) it's really smart that you incorporated canva animated graphics into the videos!! it's such a good way to make the video more interesting and grab people's attention. also a hugeee props to clink LOL the rap was so funny and i found myself remembering the info from that segment. to make the graphics pop even more, having a consistent theme that aligns with the theme of the video would be cool (e.g. pink themed graphic transitions for feb's vid bc of valentines day).
again, great great job & i'm looking forward to future PR vids xx

  9. hello tech and pr!!
i think this months pr video was super easy to watch and very fun. i really liked how you guys used the title slides as like almost an ad (in a way) and was able to visually display more details. i think that using the animated title slides could be good for both the beginning and the end for the table of contents and the recap. finally, i think that the rap was a super funny and entertaining portion of the pr video that could be cool to get more of next year. i think yall did a super good job for this video so great job!!

  10. heyy tech and pr!!

i loved watching this month's pr video. it was so creative and cute (especially the little animations in the end). i think in future pr vids you guys should continue using these transitions/recap portions because they're a nice visual and it presents all the needed information. In the future, I think including cringey humor e.g. the raps you mentioned about would be a good addition. Overall, great job with the pr video!

  12. hi tech n pr!

this pr video was SO good! everything from organization to execution was insane and so unique. i think the transitions were so cute and having them in between clips would be really smart to recap the information said out loud. the rap by clink was SO funny and we should definitely continue w promo like this because it keeps the watcher engaged. overall the publication of pr videos needs to be discussed (potentially requiring them in fourth periods again) but if we can keep this quality i think teachers would be glad to show them in classes. AMAZING job pr n tech!

  13. hey!

the pr video in march was so much fun and i think it was definitely a huge step up from what we've seen before. i think that the transition clips should be put at the end of clips as a summary to whatever skit/script the commissions come out with in case people miss information. however, although the transition slides are cute, they might not be necessary for all videos in the future if there are other transitions either in the scripts or in the editing that help with the flow of the video.

    sincerely,

  14. Hey tech and PR!

Great job on the PR video, I thought it was so much fun and i was reminded of the old PR videos that I greatly enjoyed in my sophomore and freshmen year. Personally, I felt that the timing to schedule and get the script done was good! I did not feel rushed and overall I had a lot of fun. One thing I would suggest doing (echoing Alli Hsu's statement) is to definitely have a few transitions but not for every event as its redundant. I also think instead of making them transitions, they would work well at the end as it is giving the same info that was already relayed in the videos.

  15. HI tech and PR!!!

I love love loved the PR video (as always) and the animations at the end were so cute + super worth doing for future videos. The little clink rap battle and all the scripts were so fun which definitely added to the quality of the video, and honestly I have nothing much else to say. Great job again and tech and PR does it again :)

  16. Hey Tech and PR

I loved the March PR video this year! I think it was an amazing improvement in both energy and creativity from a lot of the other PR videos that we have had. I think that the you should keep the cards at the end rather than have them in the middle because they kind of mess up the flow of the video. I think that the rap and other more creative things in the video really helped with the energy and made it a lot more engaging. Overall incredible job!

  17. Hey PR and Tech! Great job with the march PR video, this one was really fun and fresh. I really liked the little title cards, they were a very creative idea. I think they would work best at the end of the segment, since its like a little recap of what was just said, but if its just the title it should come before. The clink rap was amazing and things like that are how I think PR videos are best utilized; creative and new ways to engage the students watching so they can know about any upcoming events.

  18. hi pr + tech!

great job with the march pr video! i know this video was especially hard to film with elections and so many other events taking place, so you guys did a really great job working with everyone's schedules. i really liked the transition slides between clips, it felt like the theme of the video, and i would love to see these continued in the future. keep up the good work!

  21. Hey PR!!
I absolutely loved this video because of the beautiful graphicssss :)) I think the recaps were super effective for people to fully understand the upcoming events. Scheduling went well and I am glad you guys had a smoother time.

  22. Hey PR and Tech,

This was one of the best PR videos to date! All the hard work and effort that was put into this video really showed. Feedback wise, I think that the little transition slides are a really good idea if there isn't any other cohesive thing tying the whole video together. (Shrey’s graphics are so fire!) Beyond that, the rap was really widely appreciated, and tons of people came up to me to tell me that they really liked the rapping, so continuing that vein of having funny, slightly cringy, scripts is a good idea. The scheduling for this PR video was an eensie bit scuffed because of the break in the middle, but overall i think it went smoothly. Thank you so much PR and Tech, we love you! Keep up the good work!

Amazing job on this PR video you guys really killed it with the editing + planning! I really loved this video so amazing job guys :)

  24. ello PR & tech,

super great job on this PR video! the video was super fun & engaging to watch // here is my feedback:
    1) having the graphics in between clips would have been better, with brief information about the event on each graphic- date & any relevant links. additionally, a final graphic @ the very end of the video that consolidates all the information would have been nice
    2) the rap was SO creative and engaging i could not stop laughing when i first watched it. having alternative promo methods like this is AMAZING, and honestly i would encourage having segments like this also be posted as their separate reels on instagram

    great job!!

  25. HEY PR AND TECH!!!!!
Absolutely phenomenal job on this pr video! I really enjoyed the new segments in the video---especially the CLink Rap. I had many students come up to me commenting on the rap, so I think that it was able to effectively garner attention and draw attention to the event. I think having these more creative and entertaining methods of disseminating information is good to have in pr videos, as it encourages more viewer retention. I think having the clips at the end is nice, as it gives a nice overview of everything covered in the pr video.

  26. Hello PR and Tech,
I loved the PR video as always, amazing transitions, and theme. I really liked the uniqueness that each of the videos have with the members of the commissions creating their own twist and thematic format for the videos. On that note, listed below are some comments on the prompts provided and just about the video in general:

As I’ve stated above, the uniqueness of the video is really special. Adopting a theme makes viewing curious and awaiting the next video. And as I’ve said so in every single PR Video blogger comment. I would heavily recommend creating a yearly calendar/action plan for the different events, and having commissions sign up much much earlier. Or all at once. Events are prone to change, yes, but having a general idea of how the videos should be themed, organized, etc. would be an amazing idea. You could also get clubs started on their spotlights and other time sensitive events. This will also help with scheduling, filming, scripts, etc. I mean it makes sense because more time = more leeway. Also, I would recommend commissions like tech and pr to have global public calendars for people to see and adjust their scheduling and agendas around. And it helps direct/control traffic.

I also believe that the rap section, while being extremely engaging, isn't the best way to convey information. Perhaps decreasing the amount of time where they are rapping, and/or making it mix between a voice over and informational slides/graphics would be a good idea.

  27. hey pr and techies,
Great job with the march pr video, anotha banger forsure. Anyways, I think that you guys should always continue to strive for fun and engaging PR vids. I really liked the transitions in this one. However, I think we should have a really interesting clip in the beginning, kind of like a hook statement LMAO. I don't know if we stopped doing these because of the issue of time, but we always used to have strange intros to draw people in (like me peter and viktor the viking lifting weights in the weight room). Anyways, great job!
